Having mastered the principles of the Masonic knowledge in blue, St. John's lodges and having understood that they will be able to make the world around themselves better only by knowing it, and with understanding themselves at the first place, Freemasons have long ago felt the need to continue their advancement in the Royal art.

Their new ideas have been, and are being attained in a series of Masonic Rites of higher degrees, among which, today, the most numerous is the Scottish Rite.

In the spring of 2003, somewhat more than five years after the founding of the Grand Lodge of Croatia, the Croatian Freemasons have for the first time in their history founded the Sovereign Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite for Croatia with a great and unselfish help of Brethren from Slovenia.
